Darlington Band Senior KeShawn Williams receives the Heart of the Falcon Award!

Darlington Band Senior KeShawn Williams has been awarded the highest award a graduate can receive; The Heart of the Falcon.

KeShawn Williams has been a member of the Darlington High School Marching Falcons since his middle school years. KeShawn has been loyal to the band program since he joined. He was recently awarded the "Director's Award" at the Darlington High School Annual Band Gala. The band has not been the only thing KeShawn has been loyal to. KeShawn has been said to have an abundance of school spirit and pride. Administrators have complimented him on his drive to be a part of multiple organizations such as the Marching Band, Gospel Choir, Concert Band, and Jazz Band. KeShawn would often state that "Me getting a job is out of the question; there's too much I have to do here at school." Because of these observations, KeShawn was awarded the Heat of the Falcon Award.

KeShawn has been loyal to his community, especially his church, Glorious Apostolic Church. He has been playing the drums for his church since he was a child. KeShawn has also provided the ministry of singing for his church and other churches in the community. KeShawn's Mother (Wanda) considers KeShawn her "Quiet Storm, Gentleman, and Comedian."

Director of Bands Brendan Johnson stated that "KeShawn has always been a dependable musician in our band. Many didn't know that KeShawn and I were relatives. My Grandfather and his Grandmother are siblings. I've known KeShawn for most of his life. The personality, kindness, and respect we all experienced were what he displayed daily. His Grandfather would be proud of what KeShawn has become, and I'm glad I, along with my staff, have witnessed KeShawn receiving such an award".

We are excited to know that a representative of our excellent band program is the recipient of such an award.

Join us as we congratulate Mr. KeShawn Williams on such an outstanding accomplishment!
