The Symphonic Winds of Darlington High School receive a rating of Superior with Distinction at this year's Concert Performance Assessment.
On March 24th 2022, Darlington High School's Symphonic Band traveled to Loris High School in Loris, SC to be adjudicated at the 2022 SCBDA Concert Performance Assessment. This event is for all public school concert bands that would like to be assessed for comments or a rating. The ratings are Superior with Distinction, Superior, Excellent, Good and Poor. The Darlington High School Symphonic Band received the highest rating of Superior with Distinction.
The Selections performed were ASPIRE BY MIKE LORTZ, AMBER MOON BY NAOYA WADA, AND CRUSH BY ROBERT SMITH. Director of Bands Brendan Johnson stated "the kids have worked very hard. They were hungry for the rating they received on today. The High School Symphonic Band is one of our most prestige ensembles and have proven themselves to be an extremely talented and devoted group of young people. They'll forever cherish this moment."
