Darlington Marching Falcon Band Celebrates Alumnus Tahjae Edwards’ Success in Science, Service, and Scholarship
Darlington, SC — The Darlington High School Marching Falcon Band proudly celebrates one of its outstanding alumni, Tahjae Edwards, a shining example of excellence in music, academics, and service. A 2019 graduate of Mayo High School for Math, Science, and Technology, Tahjae played tuba in the Marching Falcon Band under the direction of Dr. Brendan L. Johnson, Director of Bands.
In the fall of 2019, Tahjae took his talents to Bethune-Cookman University, earning both a band scholarship and multiple academic awards. While pursuing a degree in biology, he remained committed to leadership and brotherhood, becoming a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Tahjae graduated from BCU in the spring of 2023.

He currently works at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and continues his educational journey at Coker University, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in nursing.

“Tahjae is the definition of persistence and purpose,” said Dr. Brendan L. Johnson. “Watching him grow from a quiet, driven student in the tuba section to a professional making an impact in the medical field is inspiring. He represents everything we hope our students will become—disciplined, educated, and committed to excellence.”
The Darlington High School Marching Falcon Band salutes Tahjae Edwards on his continued success and bright future. Join us in congratulating him as a role model for current and future Falcons!
